The Region is recognised as one of the most biodiverse regions in the world, yet it also remains most vulnerable to climate change. With the identification of climate change as a driver of biodiversity loss by the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), immediate and concerted action is needed to address these challenges.
Biodiversity and the natural environment possess various ecosystem functions and services that can help mitigate the risks caused by climate change. This webinar aims to make a case for ecosystem-based adaptation as nature-based solutions to climate change issues in ASEAN, offering perspectives and lessons as we move towards the development of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework and aligning with the climate change agenda.
