{"id":14472,"date":"2025-07-07T11:45:45","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T04:45:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/phakhaolao.la\/?post_type=champion&#038;p=14472"},"modified":"2026-02-16T17:12:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-16T10:12:17","slug":"associate-professor-soulivanh-lanorsavanh","status":"publish","type":"champion","link":"https:\/\/phakhaolao.la\/en\/champion\/associate-professor-soulivanh-lanorsavanh\/","title":{"rendered":"Prof. Soulivanh Lanorsavanh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Associate Professor Soulivanh Lanorsavanh<\/strong> is a lecturer and the Deputy Head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Bio.FNS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Biology<\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FNS.NUOL\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Faculty of Natural Sciences<\/a>, National University of Laos (<a href=\"https:\/\/nuol.edu.la\/index.php\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NUoL<\/a>). He has dedicated his academic career to the study of plant morphology and the vascular flora of Lao PDR. His work is driven by a deep passion for plant diversity and a strong interest in traditional plant use by ethnic communities, medicinal applications, and the conservation and sustainable use of rare and socio-economically important species.<\/p>\n<p>After completing his bachelor&#8217;s degree, he began his academic journey as a lecturer at the Department of Biology, where he gained valuable hands-on research experience. A turning point in his career came with his involvement in the UK-funded Darwin Project, implemented in collaboration with the Institute of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development and the Faculty of Natural Sciences. This partnership significantly deepened his commitment to botanical research.<\/p>\n<p>His <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/profile\/Soulivanh-Lanorsavanh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scientific contributions<\/a> are documented in national and international journals, as well as in educational materials, including textbooks on <em>Plant Morphology<\/em> and <a href=\"https:\/\/phakhaolao.la\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Checklist-plant-of-Laos-read-only-1.pdf\"><em>A Checklist of the Vascular Plants of Lao PDR<\/em><\/a>. Through his research and teaching, he actively promotes the sustainable management and conservation of natural resources for the well-being of current and future
