You can connect with a mushroom expert through a local mycological group or at a local university.\u00a0There is not one particular location that edible mushrooms grow. Some varieties of mushrooms can change their appearance depending upon growing conditions, making identification difficult. For example, mushrooms of the same variety can develop color differently based on their exposure to sunlight.\u00a0Experts suggest never eating any variety of mushroom that you haven\u2019t been able to identify at least 3 times in the wild.
