{"id":10188,"date":"2019-05-22T09:01:37","date_gmt":"2019-05-22T09:01:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/phakhaolao.la\/news\/workshop-launches-guidebook-to-assess-fish-conservation-zones\/"},"modified":"2024-10-22T08:59:09","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T08:59:09","slug":"workshop-launches-guidebook-to-assess-fish-conservation-zones__trashed","status":"publish","type":"news-post","link":"https:\/\/phakhaolao.la\/en\/news\/workshop-launches-guidebook-to-assess-fish-conservation-zones__trashed\/","title":{"rendered":"Workshop launches guidebook to assess fish conservation zones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Few resources exist for conservation practitioners wishing to assess the effectiveness of freshwater protected areas such as fish conservation zones once they have been established.\u00a0The guidebook will be circulated throughout Laos and other Southeast Asian countries to improve the management of these zones and strengthen fish conservation.<\/p>\n<p>The Agro Biodiversity Initiative TABI, funded by SDC, \u00a0has been supporting the creation more than\u00a0150 fish conservation zones in Houaphan, Xiengkhouang and Luangprabang \u00a0provinces and hosted the first fish conservation zone meeting in Luangprabang in February 2017, which helped to catalyze the development of this important resource.
