The Mekong River Basin, which is the largest river basin in Southeast Asia, extends from the Tibetan Plateau to the South China Sea, and runs through Myanmar, China, Lao PDR (hereafter referred to as Laos). Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The Mekong Basin covers a large part of the Indochinese region, with an area of approximately 810,000 km² and a length of 4,909 km (Rainboth et al., 2012: 2). The geological, climatological, hydrological, and biogeographical aspects of the Basin have been well documented by previous researchers (e.g., Taki, 1974, 1975, 1978; Kottelat, 1989; Rainboth, 1996; Rainboth et al., 2012); these studies are not repeated here in detail.Download here: https://www.nagaofoundation.or.jp/e/publication/e-book/mekongfishes/book/index.html#target/page_no=13
