Mok khai pa ( Fish eggs streamed in Banana leaves), traditional recipes from Lao elderly people is cooking by local herbs from garden in the house. Herbs are used to reduce bad smell from fish and help to gain nice smell for serving. This traditional dish can be considered as one of the delicious dish which is good for help from herbs
Ingredients
Fish eggs, 1 small bowl
Kaffir Lime leaf, 3 leaves
Dill, 1 small bunch
Lemon Basil, 1 small bunch
Spring green onion, 1 small bunch
Shallot, 3
Galanga, 3 small pieces
Green chilies, 5
Egg, 2
Soaked sticky rice, 2 table spoons
Banana leaf
Method
Heat the pot for streaming
Clean and chop dill, lemon basil
Clean eggs
Pound shallot, lemon grass, and galanga
Mix fish eggs, eggs, soaked sticky rice, and all ingredients together. The, taste and adjust
Make assembling banana leaf packets, bring it to the stream pot around 45-60 minutes
Note:
To increase nice smell, it is better to grill instead of streaming. However, you need to keep looking it all the time for not being burned
