Gac fruit steamed in banana leaves (Haw Mok Mark Khaow)

Delicious Haw Mok Mark Khaow from Northern of Laos

Ingredients

  • 2 big gac fruits
  • 1 cup of soaked sticky rice (pounded)
  • 3-4 teaspoon of sugar (or more or less, depending on your wishes)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Banana leaf
  • Nuts (alternative)

Method
1. Transfer the seeds of the gac fruits into a bowl.

2. Add the pounded soaked sticky rice, the salt and the sugar. Mix all the ingredients and be careful while you are stirring.

3. Put the gac fruit seeds into packets of the banana leaves and steam the packets for about 30 minutes.

5. After the steaming, you can serve the Haw Mok Mark Khaow.

Nutrition
