Yordxam Co., Ltd. is a pioneering enterprise dedicated to promoting Khao Kai Noi, or “Little Chicken Rice,” renowned as the finest sticky rice in Laos. Little Chicken Rice (Oryza sativa L. subsp. japonica Shig.Kato), locally known as Khao Kai Noi, is a traditional Lao sticky rice celebrated for its unique shape, large grains, fragrant aroma, sweet flavor, and soft texture, setting it apart from other rice varieties. It is proudly registered as a Geographical Indication (GI) product of Houaphanh and Xieng Khouang Provinces, serving as a symbol of Lao agricultural heritage.
Despite its recognition, Khao Kai Noi historically lacked strong entrepreneurship in branding, packaging, and distribution, which limited its potential to fully capitalize on its GI status. Mr. Somsay Chanthalungsi, a member and Director of the Khao Kai Noi Promotion Association, founded Yordxam Co., Ltd. with a vision to preserve his family’s traditional products while elevating local heritage through innovation and modern business practices.
Yordxam Co., Ltd. plays an important role in branding, processing, and delivering high-quality, traceable Khao Kai Noi to consumers, while also generating sustainable income for rural farmers. The company actively supports two national initiatives: Khao Kai Noi GI and Khao Kai Noi Organic ensuring product integrity, consumer trust, and long-term sustainable growth.
The enterprise is certified under the One District One Product (ODOP) of the Lao Department of Trade Promotion.
