“On 18 November 2025, the Pha Khao Lao Team joined a meeting aiming to discuss the setting up of a Clearing House Mechanism for the new National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) of Laos. Pha Khao Lao was mentioned severally by participants and presenters as a key resource on agrobiodiversity, an example of good practice in digital platform management and a serious candidate to support the NBSAP clearing house mechanism.”
This meeting aims to:
- Present the findings from an assessment of the national Biodiversity Information
System (Biodiversity Clearing House Mechanism), including current situation, gaps
and potential areas for improvement. - Validate findings of the assessment with a broad group of stakeholders.
- Build a shared understanding among government agencies, development partners,
and other institutions on the importance and mandate of a national Biodiversity
information System. - Gather feedback, ideas and recommendations from participants on enhancing
biodiversity data sharing and coordination. - Identify stakeholders, procedures and next steps for continued cooperation in CHM
data endangerment, sharing, and monitoring.
