Burapha to provide jobs for forestry students

      The Faculty of Forest Science, National University of Laos, is partnering with the Burapha Agro-Forestry Co.,Ltd. in the provision of students to take on jobs with the company.
     A memorandum of agreement on the five years venture was signed on Friday by faculty’s Dean, Ms. Latsamy Boupha, and Burapha’s Deputy Director, Ms. Souphaivanh Thiengchanxay
      Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ms. Souphaivanh said the agreement was very important as it would give students much-needed employment at the company.
    The company will provide jobs to graduates of the Faculty of Forest Science at its new plywood factory, which will open next year.
The Faculty will also receive funding from the company for training purposes, she added.
    In the past, the company has taken students from the Faculty for training in its sapling nursery and wood factory.
    Burapha is the only Swedish wood products manufacturer in Laos and the only source of wood from sustainably managed plantations. Sustainability is one of the company’s cornerstones.
    The company grows eucalyptus, acacia and teak tree, and no natural species are processed at its factory
