Terms of Reference for Internship
Pha Khao Lao data management support
Goal: The main goal of PKL data management internships is ensure the successful release of 15 PKL Species Mini-Sites.
Specific Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the PKL Team and directly under the supervision of the TABI Communications Team staff, interns will be engaged in the following activities based on the specific species assigned to them:
1. Undertake literature search in English and Lao languages to collect all relevant information about their assigned species to include:
• production management
• technical guides
• sources of expertise in Laos in the region
• marketing information including major buyers, prices and market trends
• research documents
• product-specific associations
• tourism opportunities
• restaurants, stores or organizations that promote products
2. Assist in organizing meetings of key informants to further enhance the knowledge base
3. Assist with inputting data into the PKL website
4. Further expand the interest in PKL in respective universities via PKL activities that target the student population
5. Assist TABI team at events that promote TABI to the public and others
6. Search for daily news and events on agrobiodiversity to be included on daily updates on PKL Facebook
Qualifications:
• 2 year and above in university studies at Faculty of Forest Science, Faculty of Natural Science, Faculty of Environment Science, Faculty of Agriculture and other relative.
• Microsoft Office competency
• Communications experience especially social media
• English language and advantage
Compensation: Internship policies by the TABI project will apply to these positions. In general, internships associated with the TABI project are compensated based on $150 monthly equivalent. Full time and part time internships are welcome.
